I believe in the scientific method, and that facts exist regardless of how many people deny them, or how fervently they do so. I believe the richest country in the world can take care of its citizens’ needs, and that our choice not to is an affront to everything we claim to hold dear. I believe Pete Seeger’s statement that “the world will be saved by millions of small things,” and I believe the Beatles were right: Love truly is all we need.

And I got no hate / And I got no pride / Well I got so much love that I cannot hide -- John Prine

I do believe humans have an innate goodness. Some of us may have been through awful times as a child where no love was felt. We may have even been victims of atrocities. It can lead to two ways of being. Either we become hateful and bitter and let the trauma win. Or we can seek out that innate goodness. That is the choice we have. The choice to be better. Or the choice to be just as bad as those we have been exposed to.

Gotta make sure to set aside some time this weekend to check through my closets, old coat pockets, etc., and make sure I don't have any top secret documents I've forgotten about.

Taking the opportunity to ride on the coattails of today’s earlier “Big Announcement,” for a limited time I’m offering to Photoshop my head on Spider-Man’s body (or the superhero of your choice) for the low, low price of just $89. That’s right; a full ten-spot cheaper than Trump’s! I will even send you an actual printout of it, on the finest multipurpose printer paper, at no extra charge. None of this NFT digital bullshit. Discounts for bulk orders. Hurry, hurry! Step right up!

Finished reading The Passenger last night, just in time to receive my copy of Stella Maris today. Like legions of McCarthy fans, I’m both elated to have two new novels to enjoy, and saddened by the knowledge that these could well be the last. Whew, man….

Every month I do a little review of new music releases, which almost no one reads. You, too, can not read it simply by not clicking this link 😆: brickpig.com/2022/12/05/music-

Dear The New York Times,
Stop using phrases like “false claim” and “baseless accusation,” and start using the word “lie.” Euphemisms are not helpful here.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
